A Rare Swedish Cartel Clock, Late 18th Century

An exceptional example of Swedish horology, this rare cartel clock features a finely pierced and engraved ormolu case, richly decorated with intricately cast and chased foliate scrolls and floral sprays. The enamel dial is signed by Daniel Herrström, a distinguished master clockmaker active in Stockholm from 1788 to 1790. Although the maker of the case remains anonymous, the craftsmanship reflects the refined elegance and technical sophistication characteristic of late 18th-century Swedish design.
