Gustavian mirror of court-workshop quality, Stockholm, 1770s.

Executed in carved and gilded wood with beautifully balanced polished and matte surfaces. The crest is adorned with a floral arrangement, flanked by laurel branches and elegant floral festoons. Along the inner edge of the frame run several finely crafted Gustavian mouldings surrounding the faceted glass. The lower section is decoratively embellished with, among other elements, laurel branches. The mirror’s carving is of the highest quality.
