A pair of candelabra “Night & Day” attributed to Pierre Philippe Thomire, Paris early 19th century

A pair of exceptional and very fine five-light candelabra attributed to the work shop of Pierre Phillipe Thomire Paris, manufactured in the early 19th century.
The pair of candelabras, “Night & Day” are made in patinated and ormolu bronze in an outstanding quality after a design by C. Percier and P.F.L.Fontaine in the Recueil de Decorations Interieures from 1801. This model which is very unusual was commissioned for Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte’s decoration of the Elysée Palace in the early 19th century.
