Console Table Attributed to Jean Baptiste Masreliez, Stockholm, circa 1790

A generous and elegant Gustavian console table in carved and gilded wood, with decoration in both matte and burnished gold. The apron is adorned with a frieze of vine tendrils framed by a beaded border, and the table rests on four fluted, tapering legs with boldly carved collars. The top is fitted with a white Carrara marble slab with a profiled edge.
